Formula breakdown
This result is an estimate, not an official determination or legal opinion. Eligibility, service attribution, average-wage exclusions, retirement qualification, special statutes and individual facts can change the final amount.
Calculation rules used
- New system: average monthly wage × 1/2 × service years; partial years are prorated using months plus days/30, and the result is capped at six months of average wage.
- Old system: average monthly wage × service years; remaining months are prorated, and any remaining days are rounded up to one month.
- Mixed service: calculate the old-system and new-system portions separately and then add them.
- For an ordinary complete six-month average-wage period, the MOL states that one month of average wage can be obtained by dividing the total wages for those six months by six.
